While this time of year finds people busy shopping for Christmas gifts and decorating their home and yard, the bathroom is a room that is usually forgotten. However, with just a few simple ideas, you can turn your bathroom into a holiday showcase as well. Holiday Carpets and Towels One easy decorating option is to of course go out and purchase Christmas-themed towels or carpets for your bathroom. Another option is to choose a holiday color theme and use towels and carpets in that color to enhance your decorations.  Holiday Basket of Towels Another option for decorating your bathroom also involves towels and is a functional way to decorate when you have guests staying with you for the holidays. Each guest will more than likely like a towel, so having an extra supply in your bathroom is necessary. Why not use this as a reason to add some extra decoration? Find a large basket at your local store. This can be a traditional round basket or, for a more holiday flair, look for a sleigh basket. Take your holiday-colored towels and roll them up in a tube shape. Arrange these towel tubes in the basket to create a holiday towel display for your guests. Holiday Shower Curtains Another decorating option is to have a festive shower curtain as the main focal point. Once you've added some festive holiday color with different bath linens, look for other holiday themed bathroom accessories. You can find a plethora of these items on sites like Amazon. Examples include: Shower curtain rings Toilet seat covers Lotion dispensers Soap dispensers or dishes Tissue box covers Toothbrush holders Waste cans Keep the decorating theme consistent; in other words, don't mix too many different icons together such as snowmen shower curtain rings holding a poinsettia shower curtain next to a Santa toilet seat cover. If you over do it, the room will look tacky.
